Departure Flight

I will be flying out from Melbourne Airport at 12:20pm (that’s in the afternoon) on Sunday, 4th February.

Umm, what’s the rule? Arrive 2 hours early to check-in for an international flight? Don’t know, will think about tomorrow.

Naw, the rule is “Party hard until 2hrs before flight.”

    Look white.

Aside from that, though, Qantas does indeed recommend arriving 2 hours early for international flights. Also, bring enough money to buy lots of booze in-flight.

Australian or American currency? These days I’m running out of the former (and at this exchange rate, why not!?).

2-to-2-and-a-half is a good rule these days; a Sunday flight may be busy depending on when it arrives at destination (if it’s Sunday arrival, then it’ll be filled with corporate types & busy holiday makers rushing back home), and it’s really check-in time that takes longest. Security checks aren’t so bad in Australia, yet anyway.

You don’t have to pay for booze as far as I remember, though you may if you order outside of the standard meal times. Drinking alone on flight is possibly a bad idea. US currency is accepted.

Most importantly, your internal flight probably won’t have a meal service, and the “snack packs” are aweful. Bring something to nibble on.
