First day.

Ugh

As a side note, Studds dragged me to the tiny gym they have in this apartment complex and we did some weights for a while. Let me tell you that I am out of shape and that my arms are still killing me. From working out. 3 days ago. I suck.

Anyway, the first day of work was uneventful. We just sat around and listened to the company mission and all the benefits on offer. I got to meet a few random people that I will never see again and I felt reassured that there were so many other people starting this week.

I have 4 emails to reply to right now

I want to reassure people that I will get around to replying to all their emails. I am just pooped these days and yesterday I came home and I was too tired to read, let alone write. But all your emails have been a great moral support, so keep writing them!

Like one of those evangelical shows

I tend to face these sorts of days with a mix of cautious optimism (maybe this company is awesome!) and defensive cynicism about the corporate machine (we’re being brainwashed!). The presentations given helped feed both these emotions more-or-less equally but what put me over the edge was that the people I met were pretty cool so I do look forward to actually starting work.

So, uh, I guess this is it. I am working in Seattle now.

    I totally didn’t drag you, I said, “Wanna go do weights?” and you said, “Yeah.”

    Sounds promising if not a bit daunting.. Hang in there~~ I’m sure you’ll find your own place in the coy soon~ Looking forward to more updates! As the Chinese would say, “Add Oil”, or the Japanese “Ganbare” or…. ^________________________^;

    haha, that corporate brainwashing is part-and-parcel of grad jobs, I think. Sip the kool aid! (which I always thought sounded like something you put in your radiator…;)

    is there any grad “program”?

    Geeesh Studds, your such a bully, why couldn’t you just leave Jack alone? Best thing I find for sore arms is to keep them moving, not by lifting weights, but just doing smooth gentle actions, helps to keep the blood flowing or something I assume. Glad to hear that your working with some cool people :-) Have any of you new people dared to ask what’s up with Vista?

    I am putting on an Austrian accent and saying I’m Australian just to fuck with people.

    (Nah not really)

Comments are off (unless you ask nicely).
