Lip Dubbing
Sat, 28 Apr 2007.
Over at Ze’s Page, there is a modest little post about lip-dubbing. It’s pretty much like lip syncing only you wear headphones to sing along and then completely dub over the audio afterwards with the actual song. Gives it that music video effect. One of the upshots to using an iPod to sing along is that you could do it on, let’s say… a train.
So I watch this clip with this guy singing Crazy and I think, “Heh, that looks fun. Certainly an improvement on teenagers singing along to 50 Cent on YouTube.”
That video only vaguely prepared me for the awesomeness of the next clip. First, I’ve never heard of a band called Harvey Danger. Supposedly they had a big hit in the 90s and they’re resurfacing again now. Second, this clip is made by the guys who run the site, how interesting can it possibly be?
I mean sure, it starts with a cute girl quietly listening to her iPod. But you can’t always win on cuteness alone.
I heart this video. I heart it so very much.

Definitely very very cool.
According to the comments that was all one cut and it was the first take too :-O
First take?? Wow those people must really like Flagpole sitta if they know the song that well.
I installed a plugin for the MSN emoticons to be enabled in the comments! :D
(a) (6) (@) (&) (ap) keke lah~
on my comp at work all the emoticons on your blog show up about an inch down from where they are written. is this my problem or yours? or my computers? since i dont really care all that much about emoticon placement
Is it just me or do the MSN icons somehow just look a little better than the others? (y)
At last!!! It loaded!!!
That is totally awesome!!! Looks like so much fun.
Anyone remember the video they showed at the MHS year 12 formal? Totally reminds me of that.
Yes, I remember that. Completely and totally remember it. ^o)
i really liked the video clips, they were fantastic! lol
jack probably didn’t hear this song back at it’s time as it was too “main stream” :P
