Brilliantly captures some of the spirit of driving. The monologue is just so poignant and everything is so beautifully restrained. It feels exactly like driving through the beautiful quiet of dark streets.

That iPhone commercial? There’s a short clip of Cameron Diaz in Charlie’s Angels answering the phone. The screenwriter of Charlie’s Angels got his cut from Apple: $86.50.

Grey’s Anatomy spoilers are here. Heather complains about the ending of this season and you know what? She’s right. I’ve been too busy defending this show to my macho friends to realize just how far the characters and storyline have slipped.

Put your headphones on to listen to this. Using 2 microphones strapped to a fake head, pretty accurate 3D sound can be re-created. It’s all to do with your brain processing differences in volumes and arrival time between your 2 ears.

Will need this to convert movies into Xbox-friendly formats. WINKY FACE.

What about the guy who Apple ripped off?
What about him? If he wants to get paid then he can take it up with Apple. I haven’t been following the case. It’s APPLs to oranges because Apple used a piece of work that this screenwriter produced without alteration and I assume licensed it from the studios.
This other guy seems to be complaining about this ad being an unauthorised derivative work and it’s up to the 2 parties to resolve it or have the courts decide.
What about the Apple Newton?
The insulting thing about Apple’s behaviour in that case was that - iirc - Apple approached him to use the ad. He refused, and Apple went away. Months later, they come up with an ad which is almost exactly the same. There’s derivative work and there’s blatant rip-off inspite of the guy’s wishes. What chance does he have against corporate lawyers? Legally, I’m sure Apple’s on safe enough ground, but morally, it’s pretty sketchy behaviour.
