A baby’s vomiting is dismissed as something trivial but the mother keeps bugging the hospital to look at her. Had the mother listened to the hospital staff and not spoken up, her baby would be dead. And you wonder why parents are so stressed all the time.

That’s right, a parent knows their child much better than a doctor and is therefore better placed to make these judgement calls. And given that hospitals have so many resources, they really should look at each and every case on an equal footing rather than discriminating between cases based on nurses and doctors’ experience and knowledge of statistically likely outcomes given certain presentation. Oh, and? Doctors should never make mistakes.
