It’s like… a metaphor for life
Fri, 15 Jun 2007.
I think I’ve probably been thinking too much about Forza Motorsport 2.
One notable aspect is that all my metaphors are now based around car racing. Whether I’m dealing with the absolute clusterfuck that is human relationships or pontificating the appeal of open source technologies to start-ups, my mind wanders to metaphors about friction, cornering, gear ratios and downforce.
Again, I am no racing driver. I just play racing games (and even then I suck). But there’s this delicate ballet (A BALLET OF SCIENCE!) to squeezing the best possible race out of a car. I can’t help but wonder how the real drivers keep it all under control.

whats a ‘clusterfuck’? (honestly, what is it, I don’t have a clue, but I would like to add this word to my vocabulary.)
I’m pretty sure the word has military origins. It’s along the same lines as SNAFU and FUBAR.
I like to think a clusterfuck is a big gathering of various fuck-ups that people have made. It was a popular word at my old job when referring to general computer failures.
