Today’s topic is: The Importance of Being Paris

  • Is Paris Hilton a memorable figure of this decade?
  • Was she always destined to be such a spectacle?
  • Or is she an inevitable product of our society?
  • Do you think she’d be good in bed?

I read your blog, Jack. Paris is no Marilyn, although there’s always time to get mixed up with a prince and a cult and die of an drug overdose. With money, a modicum of looks, and an “outgoing” personality, she was probably always destined to be a spectacle, but she also seems to be a product of our society: cheap and disposable. She’ll be forgotten. For me, she’d be no good in bed, but I’m sure she’s plenty good for a certain type of guy.

I really hope she’s not dumb enough to overdose on something. That would certainly make a modern day martyr of her and the media circus around her death would be so much greater than when Anna Nicole died. (Oh and also human life is precious and there is no price you can put on a life no matter how evil that person is)

I don’t mind if she becomes a modern day martyrn and the media go nuts for a while. She’s using up precious resources, buying all those clothes and shoes and clothes and small dogs that she doesn’t need.

I read your blog, but mainly for the cool links. Sorry Jack, I’m using you.

As for Paris - I don’t think you have to be “dumb enough to overdose” you just have to be dumb enough to risk doing the drugs in the first place.

Addy: Paris is worth commenting on. Nothing else is newsworthy. What do you want to talk about?! The War!? We already won that years ago. Mission Accomplished. Nothing is to be gained from publishing depressing stories about the realities of instability in the Middle East, it just makes people sad. Let’s focus on the celebrities instead.

Oh cmon, Courtney. It’s not like you’re missing out on all new episodes of Murder She Wrote. The show finished in the 90’s, it’s time to move on!

Howdy Jack, yes, I read your web site. Paris answers:

Is Paris Hilton a memorable figure of this decade? Probably not, just as the cast of the nighttime soap opera Dynasty isn’t memorable anymore.

Was she always destined to be such a spectacle? I think it was luck. She was at the right place at the right time with the right audience.

Or is she an inevitable product of our society? Not inevitable, but certainly a product.

Do you think she’d be good in bed? If she didn’t talk, maybe.
