The iPhone.
I sat down at this table of bloggers and this guy was more than happy to show off his iPhone. It’s about as I imagined and I don’t know if it was the intuitive interface or the sheer amount of iPhone knowledge that I have but everything made sense. I browsed around, I knew exactly what everything did, I struggled with the keyboard.
A great calm washed over me. In my mind, I saw Jesus H. Christ himself step down from the heavens and lay a reassuring hand on my shoulder. He smiled gently at me and spoke slowly, “It’s ok, Jack. It’s just a phone.” I snapped back to reality, returned the phone to its rightful owner and smiled contently.
It’s not the second coming, it’s just a phone. I understand all the merits of this device and I’ve campaigned to many people about the design philosophies at Apple but I have absolutely no urge to buy one. If you offered me a free iPhone, I’d think long and hard about jumping into bed with AT&T before accepting it.
I’m happy for the fact that AAPL have had such a successful launch and I’m happy because I believe it’s going to raise the bar for human-to-phone interaction. But honestly? I don’t need one and everybody just needs to relax to some nice music.

My bad. (Why two A’s? Pfft)
I love the title and first line of this post as a combo! Deluxe!
Is that how the kids talk nowadays? “Deluxe”?
I like it! :D
