James Blunt as a Metaphor

Tagged:

I just read a blog post that made me sad and kind of look back on my life and regret a few things.

I felt bad and I wanted to write a blog post of my own but the first thing I did was flip over to iTunes. I’ve been learning a James Blunt song on my guitar so his album was sitting there staring at me. So I added Goodbye My Lover to the Party Shuffle.

Then I clicked on over to my blog to write a new post but my wireless router died on me. By the time the wireless came back, the song had changed Air’s Surfing on a Rocket. As soon as I started typing, I realized I was no longer in the mood to mope.

Length of Goodbye My Lover: 4 minutes 18 seconds.

Methinks I’m a little emotionally unstable at the moment. I was going to say how shit and unreliable my little Apple Airport Express is but I think it’s the only thing that’s helping me keep myself in check.

nods I’ve been hit with that same instant mood change that goes with some songs. I’ve got whole playlists devoted to particular moods, including one I’ve just named “that mood” because I can’t find a name for it.

How come no Airport Extreme?

Well I got the Airport Express because it’s cheap, small and perfectly suited for apartment living. Little did I know how intolerant the airport driver for the MacBook Pro is.

I can’t wait for Apple to issue an update to this. I’d file bugs if I knew how to collect logs and reproduce this problem reliably.

Nicotine

Air’s “Highschool Lover” and “Venus” always makes me very, very sad.

Air’s “Alone in Kyoto” makes me feel like I can take on the world with my big wutang fist.
