| Sep262007 | Upgraded to WordPress 2.3 |
If you didn’t notice, my blog was down for about 7 hours today because I installed a new version of WordPress without thinking. It was stupid of me to forget to backup my database.
Anyway, the breaking thing was the new tag system that is long overdue in WordPress. This change removed a bunch of tables and added some new ones and that made my plugins go haywire. Most of them transferred fine, one I had to upgrade and Ultimate Tag Warrior had to be completely removed.
I don’t really miss UTW because:
- It wasn’t a “best of breed” plugin, it had its flaws
- WordPress has import functionality for UTW tags
the_tags(),get_tags()andget_query_var("tag")do everything I need
I’ve taken this opportunity to do some housecleaning around here. The header image has been updated to a cute little picture I took of Queen Anne Hill over the weekend (for those that are interested, the original header photo was actually taken next to Starbucks HQ). Also, the link text on the front page has been rotated out. Things should be running smoothly again.
UPDATE: I also finally fixed the screwed up title image in Internet Explorer 6. Sheesh, use Firefox already.
