Still Cooler

Ok it’s Monday. I want to start blogging daily again because that would be a nice change to this crazy repressive thing I do.

I woke up, showered quickly, skipped breakfast and started to walk out the door when I realised I hadn’t done my hair. Hair needs to be done because otherwise I walk around all day wondering what my hair looks like. It’s not so much that I need to look good, I just need to know I put some effort in before handing my hair over to the chilly Autumn breezes.

Why this rush? To make a 10am meeting. My commute is about an hour but dear god it’s hard to get to work by 10am because I am a programmer in my early twenties and I wear jeans to work so this is how I take care of business.

I’ve been very conscious lately of what I eat and drink. My new hypothesis is that everything I eat affects my mood and right now that roast beef sandwich has made me very sleepy. I blame it on the very generous serving of mozzarella that the lunch lady gave me. To counteract this, I have Starbucks. As indie rock as I imagine myself to be, I’m actually a yuppie and I love Starbucks because Starbucks doesn’t judge, it just gives and gives and I still feel kind of anti-conformist because I just order a “latte” but everyone else orders non-fat, triple-shot, whippy-whip, cinnamon things. So kids, your Uncle Jack is still cooler than your dad.

Mind you, this new food-consciousness has in no way affected what I eat. It only affects what I think when I am eating. Anyone who knows me will tell you I am all think and no action.
