Radiohead’s ‘01 and 10’ Playlist

I don’t know if it’s true but people are suggesting a sort of symmetry or continuity between Radiohead’s 10-year-old OK Computer and newly-released, download-only album: In Rainbows. What I do know is that this idea is really cool and a whole bunch of awkward, misunderstood people in their late twenties are happy in their pants.

I am at a cafe at the moment but when I get home, it will be a lot of fun listening for this.

I’m about halfway through the playlist now. It’s nothing groundbreaking like the twist in The Sixth Sense but it’s got a consistent feel. This playlist is “New Radiohead for the people that can’t get over Old Radiohead”.

Fwoar, that’s really interesting; must put that on once I get home (apparently 10seconds crossfade is the shit?)

Its a download-only album? I thought you could buy it Or choose to download it? Either way I’m going to get my hands on it :-)

Well, there’s a download version and some special edition box set or something but the special one doesn’t ship until December and when you buy it, you get access to the download-only version.

After listening to it, I don’t know about this theory - it’s a nice listening experience, but there are quite a few ‘hmm’ transitions between tracks. Also, it seems pretty arbitrary to keep Karma Police / Fitter Happier in the middle next to each other with no justification.

Comments are off (unless you ask nicely).
