Jack is Back

I am back in Seattle. There’s a whole bunch to say but I’ve been saying it to friends and I feel like I’m repeating myself sometimes and, oh, I don’t know. I’ll upload photos instead. Keep an eye on my flickr stream.

Basic run down of the days:

  1. Arrived, ate huge Japanese dinner and fell asleep
  2. Big palace, market, Jackie Chan, Seoul Tower
  3. DMZ Tour
  4. Temple, shopping, soju, karaoke
  5. 63 Building, Aquarium, walk in the park, shabu shabu
  6. On my own in Itaewon, Seoul Tower again, buffet at the Grand Hilton
  7. Shopping, upgraded to business class, fly to Hong Kong
  8. Ocean Park, panda exhibit, more aquariums, seafood dinner
  9. Dim sum, Big Buddha, “Times Square”, midnight flight to Seoul
  10. Tired as hell, cute cafe with fortune teller, say goodbye, fly back to Seattle

I want to write a big blog post about the food alone. Diana and her father were so amazing and took me to the most splendid restaurants imaginable. It is for this reason that I will feel very sad every time I see a Korean restaurant in America.

Yeah… Americans are really good at butchering authentic foods from other countries.

    Meh.

    We Want Picks! …And Stories!

Yeah, deutlich is right, authentic foods always get diluted and ‘Americanized’ when shop is set up over here… sucks!

Damn those American Chefs! With their culinary degrees and all! Damn them to heck!
