“You prefer a magic trick, instead? Watch me make this pencil disappear.”
Uh huh. I’m still on hiatus but this movie rocks so please add your spoiler-iffic thoughts in the comments. If you haven’t seen it yet then we aren’t friends anymore. You’re demoted to a frenemy.

saw it once, going to see it again tonight. It rocks my world, and people who don’t like it are just jealous they didn’t think of it first.
i thought this movie was beyond creepy, but oh so good. looooved every minute of it.
As a ridiculous Batman fanboy, I can’t believe that this movie actually lived up to my expectations. Ledger was unreal as well, just fit the role perfectly. I don’t like writing spoilers though :P
So awesome. Two-face was underused though, and his transition felt a bit abrupt.
Bruce Wayne is Alfreds father.
Someone explain to me why Alfred did not give Bruce the letter from Rachel. Was he really protecting Batman’s feelings or did he just want him to keep being Batman forever?
My thoughts are that he’s protecting Bruce, not Batman. After reading the book, Alfred comes across as unconcerned about the Batman persona and more about Bruce and constantly refers to Bruce retiring Batman.
Of course, I know you disagree Jack, but I think the letter will be explained in the third movie. Oh how I hope for a third movie. I know theres a risk of it destroying the work done by the first two movies, but the third movie could possibly make the Batman saga even stronger. A lot of people think there can’t be a third movie because Heath Ledgers dead, but theres plenty of room for The Penguin and other villains to arise.
Did anyone else wonder when two face found the time to have a tailored half/half suit made? I assume it was tailor made because it looked red with melty black crap on his evil side…but if it was burned surely it would have just burned off?
Totally agree with Andrew’s comment. Same could be applied to the Joker, since he was wearing a custom suit, completely different to the one he was wearing before he stole all that money, so he must have made it during the movie at some point.
Agree with Mike in a way - Alfred wanted to make sure Bruce still thought letting go of Batman would redeem him in some way in Rachel’s eyes, that there was still love there at the end. Without it, with her words to the effect that he’s now using Batman for his own ends, Bruce could turn a bitter side up.
I’m on the fence about a sequel, though. Gordon is finally the commisioner, and there are plenty of villans to face yet, but the demonising of Batman and the close-ended plot of The Dark Knight means any return to Gotham is going to spend some time re-opening the box.
Well i read in the paper yesterday that Angelina Jolie has been casted as Catwoman but they didn’t say if it was for a third movie or a standalone like the horrible Halle Berry version.
Question is who would the other villain be? They always come in pairs…i would like the penguin but then it would more or less be a remake of batman returns.
Penguin is hard to do in this kind of dark movie, unless you kind of switch it up a bit (like scarecrow). I think Riddler would could be done really well in the style of these films though, so maybe they’d pair those two up?
Interesting, I haven’t really thought deeply about Alfred burning Rachel’s letter, but I can see how significant it was now. It seems too cruel, maybe Alfred should go bad too! :P
I actually heard in the MX (yeah, bestest news source evarest) that there were talks about the Riddler being included in the next film and that Johnny Depp was possibly being cast into the role. If this is true, then I, for one, am glad - I heart Johnny Depp. He is my honey. :D
Your all wrong. For starters - Andrew - Angelina is to pregnant to be cat-woman. Mr Freeze will be the next villan and Arnold will quit as governor and take up his most brilliant role evers. His sidekick with be Poison Ivy, played yet again by Uma Therman, as she just totally BLEW MY MIND with her acting skillz the first time she tackled the role of Ivy. Who knows? Maybe she’ll shake it up a bit and put on a yellow suit with black stripes and kick people :-O
