CameraBag

CameraBag, an iPhone application by Nevercenter.

I am feeling a lot of love for CameraBag these days. I first had about this app from Dave Shea’s mezzoblue and I eventually picked it up when it was on sale. Basically, what it does is it takes your crappy iPhone camera photos and it runs them through some pre-made filters to make it look like a crappy camera from a more romantic era.

At the moment, I use the “Helga” filter which emulates the old Holga film cameras. So basically I have a $299 phone and a $5 piece of software to do emulate the imperfections of a $30 camera. Mind you, the phone fits in my pocket.

So, if you’ll indulge me (and obviously you will because you’re reading my blog), here are some of the photos I’ve taken lately.

Porsche at the LA Auto Show

Porsche 550 Spyder at the L.A. Auto Show

This was taken during what was probably the most masculine moment of my life. I was running around the Auto Show like a kid in a candy store whilst my girlfriend was bored out of her mind. Occasionally, I would recite random tidbits of car knowledge to her and she would try her very hardest to look interested, bless her heart. Among all the new hotness, there was this beautiful piece of old world charm. This is the kind of car you’d drive along the sunny Mediterranean coast and believe that the 50s weren’t such a bad decade.

Super Scrabble

Super Scrabble

I don’t know if you’ve ever played a game of Scrabble where people actually care about their score. My girlfriend and her roommates enjoy a competitive game of Scrabble where they employ actual strategy. Personally, I’m happy just to put a word down that isn’t “cat”.

Urban Outfitters

Ahh, the sale rack at Urban Outfitters. What more is there to say? Here is where my people experience their highest highs and tumble to their lowest of lows. It’s a place of self-discovery.

More?
