What to do with all this snow

Tagged:

It’s mid-December now and Seattle’s experiencing some of its coldest weather in a decade or something. I’m sure some of you are reading this from Canada, Antarctica or a meat locker at the back of some mob boss’ restaurant and you feel no sympathy for our 20-something degrees Fahrenheit weather (that’s just below 0°C). But you have to understand, this is much much colder than I’m used to.

This is my second winter in Seattle but last winter did not feel so bad for some reason. I think we only had a handful of snow days and the rest was quite bearable. If I recall correctly, I was still catching the bus on days and walking between the bus stop and my office. I do believe I even walked uphill both ways.

So, internet, what can I do to pass these cold, cold days? My girlfriend is going to be with her parents over Christmas and which leaves me to spend the holiday alone, by myself. I joked that I could pass the time by walking the streets and selling matches to the families doing their Christmas shopping but perhaps I should do that considering we are in a recession and the extra income wouldn’t hurt.

Hibernation could be the answer your looking for?

Karan

2008 is apparently coldest in the last decade, which might explain it.

I would totally checkout meetup.com because spending the holidays alone is totally BLAH.

Other than that? Just stay waaarm. Lots of movies. And hot chocolate.

@Mike Yeah exactly. Just need to start hoarding acorns.

@Karan Yeah I read somewhere that it’s mid-December now and Seattle’s experiencing some of its coldest weather in a decade or something.

@Deutlich Haha, I actually used meetup.com when I first moved to Seattle and it was not so bad! Otherwise I have my Xbox to keep me warm at nights.

I’m going to Canada the day after xmas, care to join?

Sooo, my Xbox live just ran out or I could hang out with you. Unfortunately, I can’t be of much help because it is unseasonably warm here. . . like mid to upper 60s warm. Sometimes, it even makes it up to 70. Oh, and PS, your card got sent back, so I mailed it again, and the stupid bugger better make it there this time or I’m going to have it out with the post office. Just thought I’d let you know I didn’t forget about you :)
